PERSONAL TESTIMONIALS
Master Tran,
I am not sure how to start, so I guess I would like to start out by just saying "Thank You." I can say with the utmost sincerity, that achieving my Instructor Certification is one of my greatest accomplishments, and one I am so proud of.
My experience at Tran's has been so positive to so many aspects of my life. Thank you for believing in me and training me. I am so proud to call myself a Tran's student, and now instructor. The journey over the past few years was challenging and difficult. But through the support of you and your staff, as well as my peers that I have traveled with, this journey was the road that guided me back to having a positive attitutude. I am not the same person I was 4+ years ago. I am happy to say that I can look in the mirror again, and like and respect the person looking back at me. I am forever grateful and indebted to you. My expeience at Trans was and is, truly life changing.
Being a Trans Instructor is a honor. I will take this opportunity to give back what you gave to me. Hopefully along the way, I too will make a positive impact on someone else. I look forward to the future challenges in my quest for my black belt and beyond.
Very best regards,
Ms. Patty Chonis
Dear Master Tran,
I would really like to say thank you for everything. You, and Tran’s Martial Arts and Kickboxing Center have made such a positive impact on my life, especially my past two years in middle school. The life-lessons have really taught me how to handle situations the smart way. And, honestly, Tran’s is my favorite place to be, especially after having a bad day. The environment has been so positive and encouraging that it just brightens my day and makes me feel better no matter what has happened that day. Being a student at Tran’s has given me more confidence, a positive attitude, and better fitness. I have learned to respect myself and others through both the Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai Programs. Tran’s has also helped me through some of my toughest times, and hardest situations. And I am very thankful for that. I am very proud to have my Black Belt, and still be in the Muay Thai Program at Tran’s. Tran’s has felt like a home and family to me for a very long time, and I am definitely going to continue here for as long as I can. Thank you, so much. I have become stronger mentally, emotionally, and physically. I have learned how to love and respect myself and others. All thanks to you and your school, Tran’s. I will really miss you here, but also wish you the best in California.
Love,
Jenn Ferrall
Kicking Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,
For years my son, Bill, has suffered from severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). He is 5’7”, and just two years ago he weighed 265 pounds. Because the symptoms of OCD were so extreme, Bill was almost totally dysfunctional, and his life was a constant battle, which it seemed he would never win. He had no friends, and was barely able to leave the house. The situation had become so desperate that I had just about given up hope. Then one day, after the Longmont Times-Call printed an article concerning our situation, I received a phone call from Tran’s Martial Arts and Kickboxing Center. It was Master Tran. He told me that he had read the article, and he believed that he could help my son. I thanked him for his concern and explained that having spent so much money on medical bills over the years, at this time I simply could not afford to pay for such a program. His response was, “Don’t worry about that, Mr. Sullivan.”
I was surprised, excited, and deeply moved by his compassion. Shortly there after, my son started working out at Tran’s Martial Arts and Kickboxing Center. At first, it was extremely difficult for Bill, because of his OCD. There were times when he could not even get out of the car, let alone go inside and work out. Master Tran suggested that I work out along with Bill. He also counseled him on his eating habits. I could tell that Bill felt a kinship with Master Tran, who shared with us that, in his youth, he had experienced many problems of his own. Gradually, my son began to show improvement. He was losing weight, and the routine was becoming much easier for him. For many months we worked out three times a week, until Bill had progressed to a point that he wanted to participate in kickboxing classes. Now, a little over a year later, my son has lost 127 pounds. His mental attitude has improved remarkably. And he has earned his Yellow Belt in kickboxing.
There are no words to appropriately express my gratitude, so I will simply say that this experience has been a true blessing for both my son and me. As far as we are concerned, Master Tran and his staff, not only set the standard for excellence in martial arts, but in the spirit of humanity, as well.

Master Tran,
As you know, I have been attending Tran’s for many years. I started out by coming to fitness classes and I became hooked on the Muay Thai Kickboxing program! It has literally changed my life. The program has taught me that there are no limitations to what I can achieve at almost 43 years old with the right attitude.
There is something so amazingly different about this program. Never, have I felt like I was on my own here. The support from the Tran’s staff is immeasurable to any other fitness program I have been involved in. Mr. Meier has taught me so much about nutrition, strength training and pushing myself further than I ever imagined through his personal training and I thank him for that. I can see my body starting to transform and my confidence level rising.
Our family has faced the toughest year of our life last year after the loss of our son Nate in a tragic car accident. I credit so much to where I am today to the Tran’s Kickboxing Program. I was encouraged to keep coming to class even though I felt like giving up. Continuing was one of the best decisions I ever made. I not only get the best physical work there is, but I release so much stress and built up tension. I feel amazing after giving 100% in a class and taking time for myself, it has helped me grow stronger physically, mentally and emotionally. Nothing feels better after a tough day.
I am so excited about my two youngest daughters starting the program! I know this will help them become strong, confident and respectful young ladies who will be able to defend themselves if needed.
I am so proud to say that later this year I will be a part of the Tran’s team as a licensee owner of a Tran’s school! Thank you so much for believing in me when it was hard to move on. You have changed my life and I cannot wait to help others change theirs.
Sincerely,
Anita Gray
Master Tran,
Tran's Kickboxing has had a profound effect on my life and that of my children. We started in January of this year, already the results are astounding. My five year old son is much more focused and even his teachers have commented on his respect and improved listening skills. My eight year daughter have become a much stronger and more confident person.
As for me, I have stamina, balance and core strength, beyond my wildest dreams. I am a very spiritual person and have been in search of a practice that offers spiritual growth, as well as physical strength and wellbeing. I have found that at Tran's. For all of these things, I am grateful.

I want to say a very heartfelt thank you for the program you designed at Tran's Kickboxing & Fitness Center. You have set people up to achieve something good at Tran’s – both in the physical challenge as well as the mental/emotional challenge in the end-of-class discussions/readings. You were even excited about Jag (Mr. Chakraborty) participating – you saw the potential in it for him, which is not common – most people see only his limitations. I know that his vision disability will bring challenges his way in life, but people like you and Mr. Meier will help him learn to turn those challenges into stepping stones towards greatness. This program is a huge piece of what will help him develop into a strong, confident, capable, and compassionate man.
I have been particularly impressed by Mr. Meier’s commitment to helping Jag succeed in class. He continues to try new things with Jag, and his flexibility in structuring the class is already working. Jag’s therapists and teachers have commented on differences in his focus, core strength, and balance – YEAH! I am honestly in awe of Mr. Meier’s combination of strength and tenderness, power and compassion. He is always hopeful, and his encouragement produces results (in both my kids and me!). Jag loves coming to class because of who Mr. Meier is. I feel blessed to have such a fantastic role model for Jag and Jenya.
Miss Merrifield is also wonderful in class – Jenya (Miss Chakraborty) enjoys having a female lead to watch and use as a healthy example of female strength. Miss Merrifield has a positive and energetic aura that is contagious.
I am addicted to the adult kickboxing classes and boot camp, and I look forward to being at Tran’s for a long time. Your team is amazing and I tell everyone I know about your program.
With much appreciation,
Julia Franklin
Hello Master Tran,
Not only are my kids using better self-control and respect at home, but also I have been getting letters home from their teachers telling me that they are some of the most kind and respectful kids in their class. The icing on the cake, though, is that I've found something for myself and for the first time in over 6 years I am working on creating a new and better me (a me who's identity is not only rooted in being my 3 kid's mother but also a 37-year-young woman with goals of my own) as I strive to be in the best shape(mentally, physically, spiritually) of my life this year. That is the best thing I could do for my family.

Fitness and exercise is something I consider to be required maintenance. It is as commonplace in my personal care regimen as dental care to most other people. I have known and worked with many personal trainers in different parts of the country and I can honestly say Hung Tran is clearly among the very best.
Equally as important as the routine, is the relationship between trainer and client. Often trainers allow personal matters to follow them onto the training floor, which can adversely affect the energy level of the trainer, as well as the client. The result can be a very frustrating, and dissatisfying experience. This has never been an issue with Hung Tran. He is consistently prepared, always encouraging, and extremely observant, seemingly catering the intensity to my disposition, in a manner that optimizes the use of my time in session.
As those who regularly train are aware, static routines and muscle memory can prove counterproductive to the development process. Hung Tran continuously changes the routines, introducing new and more interesting ways through which to challenge me; both physically and psychologically. I am pleased and amazed at my results through my sessions! If you’re serious about discovering your true potential and achieving optimal fitness, Hung Tran is your trainer!
Sincerely,

I am writing this note to you about my granddaughter Ms. Hunt. She is an awesome child!!!
Her father and I have had some medical issues this past year. Ms. Hunt has assumed some leadership roles that make me very proud.
Her dad has been unable to walk or be on his feet- she makes coffee for him daily without being asked and makes many trips up and down stairs to see if he needs anything. I have had pneumonia twice in the last three months. Ms. Hunt begged me to stay at the hospital with me so she could help. She is such a willing helper and has certainly helped me. She just steps up and sees a need she addresses it.
I thank Tran’s and all the incredible staff for the wonderful support you all have given from the very first day at Tran’s. You are all truly amazing.
We love you all.
Phyllis Hunt
Tran’s,
Kyle Cunningham has been attending Tran’s Martial Arts since March 2002, he was almost 4 when he started. He started in the Young Tigers program and has steadily moved up in belts. Tran’s has influenced his behavior throughout his young life. He has tremendous respect for himself and others in authority. I have been told repeatedly what a well balanced boy he is. Other students look up to him and follow his example which has helped his teachers. He is always being singled out as having self respect, self control and patience.
Just this year, Kyle was first to make it to the top of his classroom’s behavior chart, which he worked up hard to get. His teacher says he focuses on tasks at hand and does not give up until it is done. She says Kyle works well in small groups and that he is a joy to have in class.
I received an email from his teacher who wanted us to recognize him as a “Rock Star” due to his being a great role model and his great artistic ideas that he shares with the class.
In P.E. he was recognized as being an All Star for his great leadership and sportsmanship skills. He’s gotten all this praise just in a short amount of time. I know Tran’s has a lot to do with his life skills and behavior.
In addition to Martial Arts, he plays soccer and hockey and he is very much a team player and a good sport, he has compassion for his fellow teammates and is truly happy for them when things go well and when they don’t he is quick to say there will be other games.
Kyle loves life, he has a good sense of humor and is well liked. I know Tran’s has helped mold him into who he is today, which will carry him throughout his life.
Kyle will test for his Black Belt this May and we are excited for him to accomplish such a huge goal at such a young age. He will know that quitting isn’t an option and that he is able to do anything he sets his mind to.
Thanks Tran’s,
Elise Cunningham
To all who are helping Robbie (Mr. Wachholtz) in his classes,
Thank you! I’ve seen glimmers of great studies and I am very pleased with his progress. Even his parents are beginning to take notice and an interest in some of his behavior changes. Thank you for helping him find an “anchor” of his own.
Mrs. Donna Morgan
Dear Master Tran,
I want to take a minute to thank you for the difference participating in Tran’s MA has made for Mr. Ryan and myself. The effect for Mr. Ryan reaches well beyond the do-jang in to the home and classroom. For me I have something to look forward to at the end of a long day. Plus my own sense of challenge and accomplishment.
Thanks Much,
Mr. Buttars
Dear Master Tran,
Mr. Michael Olkowski just had his first review for the first quarter of kindergarten at Sandborn Elementary School. His Teacher Mrs. Spagnuolo used words you don’t hear very often to describe kids today, like ENTHUSIAM, RESPECTFUL, PAYS ATTENTION, CONFIDENCE, CARRING FOR OTHERS, USES LEASE AND THANK YOU, AND A PLEASURE TO HAVE IN CLASS. She went on to state that we were doing a great job raising him. I had to state that what she was seeing was a direct result of your influence and the training he received at Tran’s Martial Arts, and that we as parents are only reinforcing what he has learned at your school.
Mrs. Olkowski and I want to thank you, Mr. Giller and all those who have worked with Michael this past year. He’s starting out to be a person we are very proud of. Thank you for putting him on such an admirable road.
Sincerely,
Stan Olkowski
Hello Master Tran.
I just wanted to take some time on this beautiful day to thank you for providing all of us students with the most outstanding instructors. It is wonderful how each instructor takes the time to instill confidence and support during each step in becoming a black belt. When one feels discourage, they are able to remove that thought and replace it with a positive thought to strive for success and to persevere. Mr. Schilz has helped me feel more confidence in my ability to do well through his continuous words of encouragement. It is so motivating to know that he sees that I have the potential to earn a black belt, which I so desire. Mr. Meier is an excellent instructor as evidenced by his desire to make sure that each student learns each step well prior to learning the next step. He strives to ensure that we have the foundation down well, for it is evident that once the basics is mastered, the rest comes more readily and the technique will be excellent. I learn best when it is explained to me in steps, and he does that so incredibly well. I also learn best when it is explained to me why one positions themselves a certain way. Mr. Meier always explains the rationale for each movement. It is also great how he continuously instructs us on etiquette, for I feel that I could always improve on that. But, the fact that he really takes the time to ensure that each step is mastered before learning the next step is key. Mr. Giller has been so instrumental in instilling confidence in our daughter and guiding us on how to continue on that path of instilling confidence in her. All of your instructors are very inspiring and always go the extra mile to inspire others. We are so euphoric and proud to be a part of the Tran's Martial Arts family. Thank you for such an incredible opportunity in assisting us in becoming better people, and most of all, future black belts.
Sincerely,
Ms. Schulte
Hello,
I am extremely impressed with the quality of instruction at Tran’s Martial Arts in Longmont. I love the manner in which the instructors interact with the kids. The instructor at Tran’s Martial Arts are definitely operating at a much higher level of quality then I could have ever imagined. It is obvious that everyone who works there loves what they are doing and it really shows. My daughter Michele is starting to get more focused and I think the safety skill drills (bully busting, fire safety, stranger awareness) are wonderful. The staff at Tran’s know how to teach these skills to kids in a manner that isn’t so scary for them. If more schools and businesses and people in general conducted themselves the same respectful and cooperative way Tran’s Martial Arts personnel interact with each other and their students, I truly believe the world would be on its way to being a much better place.
Thank You,
Minde Gibson
(Proud Mom of Michele Gibson)
Dear Master Tran and All Instructors and Staff:

We wish you the happiest thanksgiving with your friends, family, and loved ones.
Sincerely,
Cassi Roberts and Family
Dear Master Tran,
I wanted to shoot you a quick email to show my appreciation for being invited into your Warrior's Fight Training program. I'm putting the invitation letter into my folder where I keep mementos of those events that I believe have helped to shape me into what I am today, adn guide me on my journey to better myself. This isn't something I do lightly, as this folder contains both good memories such as my awards and promotions from my military service, as well as memories that haunt me daily such as my appreciation letters for my work on the site of the Alfred P. Murrah building after the bombing back in 1995 - an even that has forever scarred me emotionally but at the same time changed the way I view my fellow man and our ability to shoulder hard times and do what needs to be done. So this particular folder is an important thing to me, filled with only the strongest influences on my life, those things I carry with me always. I would be honored to join the Warrior's Fight Training program.
Thanks again for the honor,
Mr. Hibbard
