Our MMA Fitness class is an awesome compliment to the Muay Thai standing workout. Here we combine punching and kicking drills with bag work on the ground designed to teach the essential elements of grappling and submission style fighting. This is an excellent way to round out your martial arts fitness training and it is an outstanding conditioning program that will give you even more confidence, strength and energy.
The MMA Fitness class is for everyone, no experience is necessary. There is no contact and no sparring and while fitness is the main purpose, this class is designed to reinforce the basics of ground fighting. Have you ever seen professional MMA fighters? Our MMA Fitness class is the same program that pro fighters use to condition themselves. We use the same style bags and the same techniques. It is intense, challenging and effective.
In terms of self defense, being comfortable on the ground is very important. You must be able to have techniques that will allow you to recover from being knocked to the ground. Knowing how to throw knees, elbows, punches and kicks from a ground position is a great advantage and an important supplement to your stand-up striking skills.
Most of all, the MMA Fitness class is exciting and fun.
